Announcing Ada's List Conf 2017!

Ada Lovelace Day 2017 marks our 4th birthday, and to celebrate we are hosting our second annual conference in London. Join us!

Ada's List member Denise Jones speaking at Ada's List Conf 2016

Last year, we were incredibly happy with the response to our first mini-conference, held during Ada Lovelace Week - so much so that we're making it a full day this time, and hosting it on a Saturday to give more people the chance to attend. This year's conference will be held at Imperial College in South Kensington, London on October 7th, 2017.

This post serves as an official announcement and Call For Proposals, as well as a central place to hold important relevant information and links.

About

Ada's List Conf is held once a year in October, to celebrate not only our birthday but the contribution of Ada Lovelace to the internet and science. It is an opportunity for our members to meet and be inspired face-to-face and to speak about topics related to the internet, diversity and inclusion that they have a point of view on (one of the actions in our Agenda is that change starts with the individual, with an action as small (or big, depending on how comfortable you are with public speaking) as getting up to speak). But it's also an event open to the public - anyone with an interest in these subjects is welcome to attend, whether you're a member or not. We especially believe in including men in the conversation about women, ethnic minorities, LGBT and non-binary people in technology. We would also like to emphasize that in keeping with our Agenda, Ada's List is for women *and* non-binary people - and we strive to make the environment welcoming to all (if you are a woman or non-binary person in tech, you can join our email-based community here).

This year, we can accommodate 150 attendees at Ada's List Conf. Early-bird tickets are on sale now, and can be bought here.

A full agenda and list of speakers will be announced closer to the time.

Call for Proposals

Our Call for Proposalsclosed on August 29th

Topics can be anything to do broadly with technology, diversity and inclusion. We are intentionally keeping it broad - feel free to submit anything you feel fits within this remit. The audience will reflect the diversity of Ada's List itself: they will include designers, developers, academics, content writers, strategists, marketers, journalists, recruiters, entrepreneurs, students, and even a few chief executives - so your talk can reflect that diversity. Here's a summary of our 2016 conference, which will give you an idea of what we are looking for. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at feedback@adaslist.co

We will give every proposal due consideration, and will get back to those selected by mid-September. If you have taken the time to submit a proposal and it is not selected, we will offer you 50% off tickets to the conference.

Interested in sponsoring?

Our event would not be possible without sponsors. Ada's List is a community of more than 4000 women and non-binary people, working to make the technology industry a better place, talented at what they do. If you'd like to sponsor our conference in London, please get in touch at feedback@adaslist.co

A huge THANK YOU to our sponsors for this year:
