Ada's List & Nevertheless Live with Jyoti Chopra and Tracy Chou

We were proud to recently partner with the Nevertheless Podcast to host an evening discussing topics close to our heart as a community of women in tech.

In November 2018, Ada's List had the pleasure of hosting an evening with Jyoti Chopra, SVP Diversity & Inclusion at Pearson, and Tracy Chou, co-founder of Project Include, along with Nevertheless and Pearson (this was released as an episode of the Nevertheless podcast late last year). I moderated a passionate and insightful discussion on the day with both these amazing women (and learnt a lot in the process). We are happy to release short 1-2 minute clips of some of the best takeaways from the discussion, along with a video about us talking about some of the women that inspire us. We hope you enjoy them!

Here are Jyoti and Tracy talking about what it takes to build a company culture that is inclusive and global, keeping in mind that to be successful they need to cater to people who live all over the world, and have people from multiple cultures working in them:

Jyoti Chopra is not only a senior Pearson executive, but on the board of advisors of Toyota North America. Here she talks about building a diversity and inclusion agenda in a company that is as large as Pearson, with over 25,000 employees around the world. As a woman in tech, it's worth listening to her thought process - whether you work there, would like to or are just interested in this area:

In this clip, Tracy answers a question from the audience about why it's important to have female representation in the tech industry:

And finally, here is Tracy talking about machine learning and bias - and why it's a field that desperately needs better representation:
