Working with the Royal Borough of Greenwich Council to grow their digital and data teams

Ada's List are pleased to support the Royal Borough of Greenwich Council to grow their digital, data, technology, and customer service teams. They’re building a first class team - and we’ll be sharing their job opportunities in the Ada’s List community throughout the year.

The Royal Borough of Greenwich Council has just launched an ambitious, forward looking 4 year strategy that sets out a plan to put services online, use technology to change how the council works, and build sustainable digital skills. You can read the full strategy here, and the accompanying blog post by Kit Collingwood (Digital, Tech & customer Service Lead). It goes without saying (but we’ll say it anyway) - now, more than ever before, governments need to move their service delivery online in a user centric manner and we applaud Greenwich for taking these bold steps.

Greenwich council are planning to double the team size over the next 2 years, adding digital and data skills and completely changing how they work within the council and outside. And that's where Ada's List comes in, we will be supporting the council to grow their digital, data, technology, and customer service teams. We will be sharing many roles, across all levels, with our members over the next year. These jobs will provide an exciting opportunity for some of our members to join a public sector organisation, at the start of an ambitious journey to a digital future.

As a start, check out the following leadership openings 👀

Head of Data

Data is a huge opportunity for the council and the borough – this role has real potential to shape our plans for data. We already know that we want to make strides across the full range of data activities, from improving our corporate data, to building data skills, opening up our performance, building service analytics, and much more. We’re looking for the right person to help us shape those plans and make them real.

Head of Delivery

This is a hugely wide-ranging role. The council has not yet started to work in agile ways, and this role will lead this cultural movement, so we need someone with a great deal of experience as well as pragmatism in how agile methods can be used. And, given the corporate responsibility of the role, you should have experience of financial and portfolio management too – you’ll be working across the council to negotiate budgets, plans and delivery.

Head of Product

As our Head of Product, you will need to build a new in- house product function from scratch – none of the planned roles exist in our team at the moment. As well as hiring a new team, you’ll need to set standards for product management and to ensure standards are set for the other disciplines you oversee, as well as building professional communities for the disciplines for which you’re responsible.

Head of Technology

As our Head of Technology, you will set technology strategy as well as leading our whole technology function. You’ll lead our move to cloud infrastructure; build architectural patterns that allow us to quickly build modern, secure services; and lead our internal technology service delivery.

New: Senior Content Designer

In your role as Senior Content Designer, you will be at the forefront of this, leading content design for our complex products and services. With a relentless focus on the user, you will develop user-focused content across multiple services to create a seamless user experience. You will take responsibility for content across all channels, ensuring consistent style and making changes across whole services.

We are pleased to support a local authority in their shared ambitions to get more women and non-binary people in tech roles. We want to work with similar organisations to grow their teams going forward. If this is you please contact feedback@adaslist.co for more
